Thank you for the reminders! One thing I'm struggling with right now is in not being productive enough for my managers/bosses. I'm doing great work but since they have their own expectations, it can feel like I always need to go above and beyond and eventually burn myself out to be productive enough for them. I'm not sure how to find the right balance

Thank you so much for this, it really struck a chord. Interestingly, as I took to my own pen and paper, revelations around my perspective on productivity started to come up. When you talk about valuing prep and thinking as real work really hit home because I've learned that I sometimes still operate under capitalist/corporate definitions of what productivity means. As someone who started working for herself, I've realized that I've not really been giving myself recognition for showing up and putting in the capital "W" Work--inarguably for me, the Work that fuels all other work (i.e. those I do for others). To be able to acknowledge yourself and acknowledge that all of this Work (prep, thinking, ideating, researching, etc.) is so very much real, even if it can't automatically be seen or monetized. There's something to be said for the slow slimmer over instant gratification that I seldom let myself embrace in the past.
