Hi everyone! Inspired by other writers I admire and respect, I want to share the ways we can work together before I dive into this letter.
I’m currently accepting new new 1-on-1 coaching clients, booking workshops with universities and organizations, and offering my 6-week Intentionally Productive Scholars Program for undergraduates. If you’re curious about any of these, reach out or schedule yourself in for a free 30-minute chat with me. If you have a pal or colleague who may be interested in my services, feel free to forward this email to them. Thanks!
I’m working on a longer piece about productivity and fire. Think putting something on the back burner versus a front burner, dealing with burnout, etc. I’m letting it simmer (ha! metaphors) and will share it in the next week or two, so here are some tidbits, updates, and ideas for today.
May Co-Working & Call for Q&As
Co-Working for paid subscribers is next Tuesday the 23rd 11am-2pm EDT. I’ll send out an email with the Zoom details to paid subscribers tomorrow morning.
The call for questions for the May Q&A is open until Monday the 22nd. Please submit your questions via a comment on this post or email me at kate@katehenry.com.
I am grateful for my dedicated free readership, and if you’d like to support me as a writer and receive access to perks like co-working and discounted coaching rates, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription to tending. Thank you!
New Podcast Episode on Slow Productivity!
My podcast episode with Rachelle Glendon is liiiiiive! Rachelle runs the Substack “Slow Notes with Rachelle” and the Podcast “How to Live Slow.” Our conversation about Slow Productivity was such a treat to record and to listen to! You can listen to the podcast and access the show notes below.
May is a big podcast month for me, and I should have two more episodes with two different podcasts coming out in the next few weeks. I’ll share the links when I have them. If you’d like to chat with me on your podcast or have an idea of a podcast I’d be a good fit for, please email me at kate@katehenry.com.
June 12th Workshop for PhD Liferaft Month of Mondays
I’m presenting at the PhD Liferaft’s “Month of Mondays” this June, which is offering a free workshop each Monday to support PhD scholars in their work over the summer.
My workshop is called “How to Develop an Effective Slow Productivity Session” and it will take place on Monday June 12th at 7am EDT / 12-1 BST. While it’s quite early in the morning for folks in the U.S., it’s a great way for folks in other time zones to access my offerings! There will be a recording of my workshop, too, if you can’t attend live.
Join the Waitlist for Perceptible Progress: A Goals Course
One of my favorite things to do is make goals actionable and achievable, so I’m excited to offer a revamped version of Perceptible Progress: A Goals Course this summer. I’m still figuring out the timeline, but I’ll likely launch it in July. You can sign up for the waitlist here and I’ll share more details as we get closer.
Curiosities
I mentioned the new Zelda game in my last note, and I can now confirm that it is amazing! I’m giving myself permission to just chill and play Zelda for a couple hours at a time and it is really lovely.
I’m reading another series about magic school. I think I’m finding that my favorite genres are dark academia, magical realism, and schools where people go to learn magic, and Olivie Blake’s The Atlas Six is a combo of all three. I just got a notification that the second book I requested on interlibrary loan is waiting for me, so I’m going to dive into that later tonight!
